I woke up this morning to my alarm reminding me that I’m supposed to write something today. I didn’t know what to write about honestly. I’ve not had much gardening going on because of Jubilee but I’m supposed to be proclaiming the JOY of my jubilee! So here are some things I’m grateful for. Time with my family, diving deeper in my trust of the Lord and good friends. Today I’m going to tell you about good friends.
Every experienced gardener will tell you some plants like it around certain other plants. I’ve heard it said that carrots love tomatoes. Why? Is it because tomatoes are the best kind of person, I mean plant, out there? Heavens no. Tomatoes have something carrots don’t and vice versa. You might think your attracted to people who share your same interests but actually your attracted to people who bring out something in YOU no one else can. Your attracted to a behavior or attitude YOU don’t possess. This is the same with companion planting.
It works because it shows we need each other. Jesus says; And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works: Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching. He also says; Two are better than one; because they have a good reward for their labour. For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow: but woe to him that is alone when he falleth; for he hath not another to help him up. Again, if two lie together, then they have heat: but how can one be warm alone? And if one prevail against him, two shall withstand him; and a threefold cord is not quickly broken.
My friends, learn from companion planting. Don’t over think it just try it. You might learn that a good friend is harder to find than you thought but worth the effort to keep.
